Overview
From May 21th to November 30th, 2025, the Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo will host the exhibition:
"A Journey Through the History of Perfume. The Storp Collection"
Curated by Chiara Squarcina, Marco Vidal, Monica Baggio, Barbara Savy, Massimo Vidale, Luigi Zanini, in collaboration with MAVIVE.
A selection from the Storp Collection will be on display to enhance the section dedicated to perfume, which has enriched the permanent exhibition path of the Palazzo Mocenigo Museum for over a decade.
A showcase of the most significant bottles—both from an aesthetic and historical perspective—will allow visitors to delve into a variety of themes: from the creativity that over the centuries has given perfume an iconic identity through imaginative design, to the use of rare and precious materials to make each container a distinctive object.
The exhibition also explores the use of essences and their status as some of the most valuable goods traded along Mediterranean and later transoceanic routes. It continues with an in-depth historical and cultural investigation of perfume, tracing its evolution through exquisite miniature vessels that reflect the artisanal virtuosity and aesthetic tastes of each era.
This major initiative marks the continuation of the prestigious collaboration with MAVIVE, through which the Fondazione Musei Civici has long organized joint projects focused on the world of fragrance.
The exhibition is produced by Mavive Parfums and Zignago Vetro, with the support of Givaudan, in collaboration with the Department of Cultural Heritage – Archaeology, Art History, Film, and Music of the University of Padua.
Admission included with regular museum hours and ticket.
