In the Spazio Leonardo, on the first floor of the Galleria Sabauda, as part of the annual 'A tu per tu con Leonardo' (Face to Face with Leonardo) event, from 20 March to 28 June 2026, the original drawing 'Three Views of a Bearded Male Head', part of the collection of works by Leonardo da Vinci held by the Royal Library of Turin, will be on display.
This study of a male head is part of the priceless collection of over 1,500 drawings that Carlo Alberto purchased in 1839 from Giovanni Volpato, an art connoisseur and dealer who worked in Turin, London and Paris.
The Volpato collection forms the core of the Royal Library's drawing collections, which, in addition to the famous 13 autograph sheets by Leonardo da Vinci, also include drawings by Michelangelo, Giulio Romano, Guido Reni, Rembrandt, Annibale Carracci, Giambattista Tiepolo, Antonio Canova and many other Italian and European masters.
Admission is included in the Royal Museums ticket.
