Overview
Venice, Mestre and the lagoon islands celebrate Christmas 2025 with “Venezia. It’s Christmas Time”, a festive programme filled with lights, shows and family activities. More than 50 km of Christmas lights and artistic installations illuminate streets, squares and shopping areas, while the ice rinks in Piazza Ferretto, Campo San Polo and Marghera welcome visitors of all ages.
Among the highlights is the beloved Christmas Express, the little train that travels through Mestre offering a magical ride among decorations and music. From 6 December to 6 January, the Bissuola Winter Village features rides, creative workshops, live entertainment and themed characters. Lido, Pellestrina, Murano and Burano also host markets, concerts and Christmas tree lightings.
Traditional events return as well, including the spectacular Santa Claus Water Parade along the Grand Canal and the lively Moto Babbi motor parade. The holiday spirit reaches the theatres too, with the Harlem Gospel Choir, The Nutcracker by Balletto di Roma, family shows and special concerts at Bissuola Live Christmas.
