Auronzo Lake

Overview

The pearl of the Dolomites

Also known as Lake Santa Caterina, since being around 2 kilometres long it reaches as far as the hamlet of the same name, Auronzo Lake is a reservoir nestled in the heart of the Dolomites. It is located near the municipality of Auronzo di Cadore, in the province of Belluno, at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level.

It is the ideal destination to enjoy moments of relaxation, surrounded by an enchanting landscape. You can explore the waters of the lake by renting a small boat or pedalo, or the most adventurous visitors can go swimming in the lake. Mountain biking enthusiasts can follow the cycle-pedestrian route, which winds around the entire perimeter of the lake.

Nestled among magnificent peaks, Auronzo Lake is surrounded by small green spaces, perfect for a picnic or sunbathing. You can also cross the reservoir on foot, thanks to three wooden and iron bridges that offer picture-perfect views.

At one time, the Cadore Motorboat Grand Prix used to take place on its waters. Today, you can watch the canoe-kayak championships.
