This is the greeting that welcomes us in this ancient land of history, legends and megalithic remains. An ancient and seductive language, Griko, still resonating in this strip of land in Apulia: welcome to Grecìa Salentina.
The spirit of belonging, distinguishing the 11 municipalities that make up the Union of Municipalities of Grecìa Salentina, is manifested in numerous cultural initiatives to safeguard and transmit a culture that has remained intact over the centuries.
The Marathon, with its 42 kilometres and 195 metres in the footsteps of Magna Graecia, cradle of civilisation and meeting of races, cultures and peoples, fits into this process of cultural promotion.
Like Filippide, we will travel through landscapes and villages animated by the Greek language and culture and dream of being able to shout like him: "Νενικήκαμεν" (we won)!
