Since the opening of the Verona-Caprino railway line in 1889, Affi station has played a crucial role in reloading coal or wood bound for Caprino after the difficult Val del Tasso section. It was further enhanced in 1904 with the opening of the "branch line" to Garda. After the Second World War, when the line fell into disrepair, it played an important role in the repair of bridges bombed in the Val del Tasso.
Between the 1940s and 1950s, a bar was established inside the station, run by Silvino Ragno, Knight of the Republic and deputy mayor of the town in the 1950s.
Silvino Ragno also dedicated a poem to the station, published posthumously in a historical book created by the Municipality of Affi dedicated to the structure.
On 1 July 1956, the Affi-Garda line was closed, and in December of the same year, the Caprino-Domegliara section was also closed following the bankruptcy of SAER, the company that operated the service. The station is used as a library.
