Overview
Ghizzano has very ancient origins testified by the excavations at Santa Mustiola, which have documented the passage of Romans and Lombards in this area. The church of Ss. Germano and Prospero is documented from 1406, while the oratory of SS. Annunziata was erected at the end of the 19th century. Counterbalancing these elements of the past, however, are the interventions of contemporary artists such as David Tremlett - who has radically changed the face of the Via di Mezzo, colouring the façades of the houses using acrylic paints in shades reminiscent of the Valdera hills, brown, green, ochre - Alicja Kwade, with her sculpture " SolidSky", and Patrick Tuttofuoco with "Elevatio corpus", three installations inspired by Benozzo Gozzoli's Tabernacle in Legoli
