Overview
THE “ENCHANTED VALLEY” OF THE SHORT SUPPLY CHAIN: FROM BREEDING TO SELLING
The “Maso prà del cuco” farm is located in Mala, a small hamlet in the municipality of Sant'Orsola Terme, in the Valle dei Mocheni, in the mountains of the splendid Lagorai chain, which writer Robert Musil called “the enchanted valley”. This valley, 20 kilometres from Trento and in a natural environment of great beauty, is known throughout Italy for the cultivation of small berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, etc.). Here, the family-run farm raises cattle, sheep for meat and pigs: a classic example of a “short supply chain”, where all products, sold directly, are derived from the careful breeding and expert processing of meat and milk.
WIDE CHOICE OF CHEESES; FOR EVERY TASTE AND SEASON
The farm's dairy produces tasty milk products such as ricotta, butter, tosella and cheeses of different maturities, from the freshest, such as caciotta and stracchinella, to the most mature and flavoursome. The meat is processed into lucaniche, salami, speck and bacon.
DIRECT SELLING, AT THE MARKET AS WELL
The animals are fed with natural food making the final product genuine.
The sausages and dairy products can be bought at the farm shop, or at the various farmers' markets: on Tuesdays in Rovereto in Piazza della Pace, on Wednesdays in Trento in Via Filzi, on Thursdays in Pergine in Piazza Fruet and on Saturdays in Trento in Piazza Dante.
