Ca' Bernarda

Overview

Nature and sustainable tourism

Between Pincara and Villamarzana, right beside the Canalbianco river, is the small hamlet of Ca' Bernarda, in the province of Rovigo. The town has a curious history, linked to the Oratory of Sant'Antonio, organised within a rural court that originated as an aristocratic residence and was built for the Bernardo family in the 16th century: hence the name Ca' Bernarda.

If you want to truly immerse yourself in the region, you can opt for floating accommodation in close contact with nature, a perfect example of sustainable tourism. The lodging can accommodate up to four people, but don't forget your sleeping bag.

You will sleep among hedgehogs, weasels, beech martens, hares, toads and tree frogs, several species of nesting waterfowl, small harmless water snakes and varieties of fish, including eels. The water is clear but dark and acts as a mirror for the vegetation and reeds.

If you'd like to have the thrill of an adrenaline-fuelled experience in this wild environment, the islet of Ca' Bernarda has one of the most beautiful motocross tracks in the whole of Veneto.
