Overview
A recently formed municipality, born from the union of Casciana Terme and Lari, is the perfect destination for those in search of relaxation but not renouncing culture. To begin the tour, the ideal is to treat yourself to a moment of total wellness at the Terme di Casciana, where you can enjoy the health-giving properties of the Mathelda water: this thermal complex was built at the behest of Federico di Montefeltro in 1311 and today enchants at first glance with its elegant neoclassical façade added in 1870. From relaxation to culture, we move on to Lari, where a visit to the ancient Castello dei Vicari, a majestic Medici fortress of disquieting fame, is a must: here, it is said, witches were tried and prisoners tortured. And the tour cannot but end with a taste of the village's delicacies, from handmade pasta to sausages and, around May, cherries, the fruit of which this land is rich.
