Gita al faro

Overview

Returning from 21 to 24 June 2023, the Literary Festival Gita al Faro, in Ventotene, whose title is inspired by Virginia Woolf's novel of the same name. Six guests will participate in this edition, where writers can discover the island and specifically the Bourbon prison of Santo Stefano, with evening meetings open to the public at the Ultima Spiaggia bookshop, writing a short story inspired by the islands of Ventotene and Santo Stefano.

The festival will end on the evening of Saturday 24 June, when the unpublished texts will be read accompanied by original music by pianist Matteo Rossi. The stories will be published by the Ultima Spiaggia publishing house.

In Gita al Faro there is above all the idea of the gift that the island of Ventotene gives the writer, restoring the solitude and beauty of seven days in which one is only called upon to observe, breathe, and give back. But also a gift the writers give to the island, in the final story, which is read with the lighthouse in the background.
