Overview
After the recognition as 'the largest sailing race in the world' by the Guinness Book of Records, Barcolana returns with a new edition. This time the spotlight is on the sea and the environment, while gathering all sailing enthusiasts in Trieste, turning the city into the international capital of sailing.
The famous regatta will be held in full sail from 3 to 12 October 2025. The course is a quadrangle with fixed vertices positioned in the Gulf of Trieste, with a total length of 13 nautical miles.
The Piazza dell'Unità and the waterfront will be the beating heart of the Barcolana Village, with exhibition spaces, activities open to the public, info points and temporary stores to host the sponsors of the regatta, nautical products and services, and crews. The charming Piazza Unità d'Italia, Europe's largest square open to the sea, will be transformed in the evening into a stage for entertainment and shows.
