Overview
Now in its 22nd edition, the festival covering Current Affairs, Comparison and Dialogue returns to the beautiful city of Trani, from 21 to 24 September 2023.
Given the geographic, historical and cultural specificity of this beautiful Apulian town, the central theme of the event could only be Dialogue, as place of discussion, between the various Mediterranean civilisations. Legality, justice, environment and solidarity – these are the key themes on which various initiatives are grafted yearly, offering the public, especially young people, innovative and productive exchanges between different languages, with the intention of fostering active and responsible citizenship.
The festival was established in 2002 in cooperation with publisher Giuseppe Laterza and organised and promoted by the cultural association La Maria del porto – E.T.S., the Region of Puglia and the Trani City Council. It is able to enrich the cultural scene in Trani's historic city centre thanks to the residents’ strong welcoming spirit, the dedication of young volunteers and, last but not least, the precious food and wine tradition of Apulia.
This is an unmissable event, a European cultural festival that welcomes us and helps us reflect on Italy’s ongoing central role in relations between the various cultures that border the Mare Nostrum.
