Marinated Fish Festival

Marinating fish in Comacchio is a centuries-old tradition rooted in the local culture of the Valli area.

After being fried or cooked in the large fireplaces of the Manifattura dei Marinati, the fish is preserved using a curing method that is still prepared today according to the traditional recipe, using vinegar, water and salt. La Festa dei Pesci Marinati, taking place over the weekend of 25 April, aims to celebrate Comacchio’s centuries-old tradition of marinating fish, with activities and initiatives promoting this excellent product from the Valli di Comacchio.
