"Vignola è tempo di ciliegie" is the well-established event celebrating the "moretta cherry" for which the city is famous throughout the world.
The ruby red of the cherry is the unifying theme of the various activities that are held every year in June.
Two weekends (30-31 May/1–2 June and 6–7 June) dedicated to cherries and good local food, including music and shows, show cooking and tastings, guided tours and workshops for children.
Strolling along the streets of the historic centre, you can stop in courtyards hosting Emilian food and wine stalls open all weekend, with a wide selection of local specialities such as crescentine, borlenghi and all kinds of fried treats, to enjoy with a good glass of wine or an excellent beer.
Piazza dei Contrari with the majestic Rocca di Vignola and the fascinating Palazzo Barozzi will be the setting for historical re-enactments, show cooking and tastings. Plenty of entertainment for children, including fun facts, storytelling sessions and workshops.
