The Cherry Blossom Festival is dedicated to the spectacular flowering of these plants along the Panaro valley. The event includes various activities that follow the theme of blossom, ranging from markets to a parade of flower floats.
Delicious, rich in history and excellent for our well-being, Vignola cherries are the queens of agricultural production in the Terre di Castelli. Their cultivation has profoundly shaped the landscape of this area and, in their honour, the Cherry Blossom Festival is held in spring, as well as "Vignola è tempo di Ciliegie" (Vignola is Cherry Time), which takes place on the first weekend of June.
There are various initiatives: along the streets of the centre you can find food and wine stalls, shows and entertainment, and children's activities.
The event has its origins as far back as 1970.
The event includes, among other things, exhibition stands inside the former Municipal Market, Street Vendors, Florists and Nurserymen, daytime and nighttime parades of the floats, and the "Golden Cherry" award given to a person of Emilian-Modena origin.
Every other year, the P.G. Tassi Painting Competition and the International Poetry Competition are also held.
