EXPERIENCING AN EDUCATIONAL FARM
The “En Galavra” educational farm and farming business is in Godenzo, in the Giudicarie Esteriori, Trentino, 2 kilometres from the renowned Terme di Comano spa resort. The business is the result of converting 40 years of experience in cattle breeding.
The farm, in fact, was founded in the 1980s as an activity with a strong link to tradition, linked to the rural world placing the close relationship with nature, the forest, field crops and the vegetable garden at the forefront, in a single context of living together with animals, in the most natural way possible.
A JOURNEY INTO THE LOST TIME OF “MAKING WITH YOUR HANDS”
The Educational Farm, with various workshops, is connected to the farm, offering adults and children alike unique and extraordinary experiences, in a virtual journey back in time, to experience, first hand, activities, gestures, actions and sensations of times gone by, with the slowness and care that help the memory of the ancestors and the recovery of lost emotions, in the power and pleasure of “making with your hands”, like touching the warm muzzle of an animal, caressing the wheat ears swaying in the field, picking the grains of wheat one by one, touching the impalpable essence of flour.
BE WON OVER BY THE “RITUAL” OF ANCIENT GRAIN CULTIVATION
In the grain workshop, the ritual of sowing, cultivation, harvesting, milling and consumption of cereals, both for gastronomic and curative purposes, can be relived. In particular, the farm has tried to produce all the various types of grains once used in the valley, the Giudicarie Esteriori, where waxed maize, for cattle feed, is now the mainstay.
