17 extraordinary openings to admire Leonardo Da Vinci’s, The Last Supper

Overview

The Last Supper Museum “Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano” opens its doors, in addition to the usual visiting hours, in the evening from 19.00 to 22.00, to allow a greater number of visitors  entry to the museum. This is part of an initiative that aims, responsibly and occasionally, to increase the possibility of access to the museum, taking into account certain needs.

The intent is to offer the city of Milan and its visitors more opportunities to enjoy one of Leonardo's masterpieces in person.

During some time slots (at 19.30 and 21.00) it will also be possible to take advantage of the guided tours of the museum in Italian.

The symbolic value of two of the dates is also underlined by the cost of the ticket of only 1 euro: April 6th Holy Thursday, the day in which the evangelical stories recall the washing of the feet and Jesus' last supper, and Tuesday May 2nd , to commemorate the anniversary of Leonardo's death, which took place in 1519.

Furthermore, on Holy Thursday, visits will be reserved for the most vulnerable with those who care for them:

"It is a way to reinforce" say the directors Daffra and Zanzani, "focus towards social aspects also demonstrated by the collaboration with the Opera prison and - more generally - the role that museums are called to play within society by inviting everyone to cross their thresholds".
