In Italy, summer 2023 will be packed with events: Italy will host the 2023 European Women's Volleyball Championships.
The women's tournament held in Italy will be played in Monza, Florence, Turin and Verona. The opening match of the continental championship between Italy and Romania will be played in Verona on 15 August, in a unique setting: the Verona Arena. Verona's amphitheatre will again host an international competition after nearly 35 years since the last event: the volleyball match on 23 May 1988 between the United States and Soviet Union.
The continental champions will face Switzerland (18 August) and Bulgaria (19 August) in Monza and finally close out Group B in Turin, where they will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina (22 August) and Croatia (23 August). In Florence, 4 rounds of knockouts and 2 quarter-finals will be played, while the semi-finals and finals will be held in Brussels, Belgium.
