Overview
A journey through two centuries of the Montebelluna footwear district
Among the many unique places Italy can boast, there is also a museum dedicated to sports boots and shoes, absolute stars of entrepreneurship in the Montebellunese and Asolano areas of Veneto for decades.
The Museo dello scarpone e della calzatura sportiva, housed in the prestigious Villa Binetti in the heart of Montebelluna, was created precisely with the aim of enhancing the history and heritage of this area. Dozens of companies and shoe factories in the Montebellunese footwear district have joined forces to give future generations a historical memory made up of thousands of shoes of various types, historical objects, sketches, patents and machinery tracing the history of the area from its origins in the 19th century to the present.
In addition to the exhibit, spread over 11 rooms on two floors, the Foundation running the museum also offers a rich calendar of meetings, conferences, round tables and educational workshops.
