Car-free roads: just you, your bike and the silence of nature
A day dedicated to cycling enthusiasts, with the roads closed to traffic so you can enjoy the climb in complete safety and freedom. Whether you're a professional cyclist looking for a challenge or a family looking for a special Sunday surrounded by breathtaking views, this event is designed for everyone!
There are 8 different routes waiting for you to explore Monte Avena, with car-free roads and refreshment points offering entertainment so you can recharge your batteries and have fun with friends. This is a non-competitive event: there are no timekeepers, just the pleasure of cycling.
You can use any type of bike (MTB, road bike, e-bike, gravel bike).
There are two starting points: the historic Birreria Pedavena, which has over 100 years of history, and the MVC Store in the Fonzaso area, nestled on the slopes of Monte Avena and the Grappa massif.
You will have the opportunity to explore the Croce d’Aune pass, which, as well as being famous for the beauty of the places it passes through, is also known for an episode of the Giro d’Italia that changed the history of cycling.
It was right here, in 1924, that a young Tullio Campagnolo, the founder of the famous company that produces bicycle components, turned a stroke of bad luck into a flash of genius, when his frozen hands prevented him from removing and refitting his wheel. It was here that the spark was ignited that would lead to the invention of the derailleur gearshift in the years that followed.
We look forward to seeing you here to help make history at this first edition! For more information, visit the official website.
