2023 heralds Umbria Jazz, one of the most important jazz festivals in the world, which this year celebrates its 50th anniversary.
From 7 to 16 July 2023 the acropolis of Perugia, and its medieval architecture will provide the setting for the event.
The streets and main squares of the centre become a crossroads of sounds and melodies, with artists from all over the world.
Umbria Jazz has always remained faithful to its identity, but the event has been able to renew itself over time by extending to other musical genres, with the participation of pop and rock artists.
Half a century of history to celebrate with a calendar full of events.
Several world music legends will perform on the mainstage of the Santa Giuliana Arena starting from the opening evening, with the singer-songwriter and winner of the Nobel Prize for literature Bob Dylan, continuing with Mika, Herbie Hancock, Stefano Bollani, Paolo Conte, Brad Mehldau, Ben Harper, Joe Bonamassa, Kyle Eastwood, Stewart Copeland, and many others.
Music lovers can also attend free concerts in Piazza IV Novembre, Piazza Matteotti and at the Carducci Gardens, where well-known artists will be performing on stage with emerging bands.
For children and their families, there will also be a space dedicated to events related to culture and music education: UJ4KIDS.
