Overview
Lucca Comics & Games is the most important fair in Italy and Europe dedicated to comics, entertainment, board and role-playing games and fantasy imagery. It's held every year in Lucca for four days.
The most important figures in the industry – publishing houses, specialists, resellers, comic artists – participate in the marketplace-exhibition in an exhibitors’ area that’s around 15,000 square meters and runs through the historic center of Lucca. There are also numerous special events on the program: meetings with Italian and international comics authors, book presentations, role playing tournaments, cosplayer performances, concerts and much more.
Every year, special exhibitions dedicated to world-famous artists are organized, housed in the palazzos and museums of the city. The Comics area is dedicated to comics and animation, while the Games area hosts roleplaying, card and board games, with exhibitors in the recreational industry: authors and publishers of games, specialized stores and associations.
The programme also includes tournaments, prizes and seminars, where special awards are given out to the best games of the year, to the best previously unpublished work and to the best handmade miniatures. Tournaments for roleplayers take place, as well as cosplay competitions and there’s even a special area dedicated to children and schools, Lucca Junior.
