Siris

Overview

Siris is a small village where nature and history intertwine to form the fabric of an extraordinary visual tale. The village lies at the foot of Monte Arci, overlooked by a small giara, in a verdant valley where woods of holm oaks, downy oaks and cork oaks alternate with Mediterranean scrub. If the centre fascinates with its narrow, winding streets and houses built in the Sardinian tradition, outside the centre, the most ancient history can be discovered in the domus de janas, typical burial sites of the Sardinian Neolithic period, and in the numerous nuraghi, such as the nuraghe de Inus, which dominates the town from its 440 m height. Lastly, the history of this land is also whispered by Monte Arci and its trachyte rocks, which over the millennia have drawn sheer cliffs and numerous caves, including the Riu Bingias cave, which opens up near an enchanting spring that bears its very name.
