Overview
Rising in the Cedrino valley is the ancient village of Irgoli, a small town with a history that is lost in the mists of time and that leaves traces of these origins in the precious architecture dotting its territory, such as the Janna 'e Pruna nuragic sanctuary, the Tutturu nuraghe, and the domus de janas Sa conca 'e mortu. Surrounding the village, the green of the landscape is a cloak that covers everything and is particularly resplendent in the protected centuries-old holm-oak forests of Su Padente and Talachè. Its spiritual soul is instead kept in the church of San Nicola, where a thorn from the crown of Jesus Christ is said to be preserved, and in the country churches of the Madonna di Costantinopoli and Sant'Antioco. In the village streets, finally, colour is the protagonist: splendid murals embellish houses, streets and squares, weaving a visual tale of daily and pastoral life.
