Overview
On the ancient Via del Sale delle Langhe, housed in a former seventeenth-century monastery that later became a noble residence and is now transformed into a splendid relais, is the Relais San Maurizio, with a beautiful park and a splendid view of the Langhe vineyards. The rooms, converted from the monks' cells and stables, are furnished with care and elegance, each in a different way. But here, in this elegant atmosphere, in which ancient elements blend perfectly with more contemporary ones, you come for a gastronomic experience of the highest level and to savour the excellent cuisine of the Piedmont and Asti tradition, based on quality raw materials and mostly from the surrounding area, interpreted with a gentle and refined touch of originality. Today, the kitchen and its culinary project is entrusted to Ugo Alciati and chef Fabio Sgrò, while Andrea Alciati remains the par excellence room master. Definitely noteworthy is the cellar in the basement with about 3,000 wine labels, with plenty of space for Piedmontese wines.
