It's back! Vigneti Aperti returns, as the first event of 2024 on the calendar of the Movimento Turismo del Vino, which from 17 March until 27 October will be opening the doors of wineries all over Italy to allow the public to explore the places where some of Italy's best wines are grown.
Vigneti Aperti brings with it the springtime as the vines bloom into life - always a fascinating sight that reawakens the desire for the great outdoors. What better way to celebrate the rebirth of nature than with a toast that unites viticulturists and wine lovers from every region of Italy?
The programme includes excursions by bike or on horseback, guided tours, shows, picnics, aperitifs at sunset and a host of other activities every weekend from March to October, when visitors can discover the flavours of wines grown in coastal regions, mountains, lakesides and hills. Vigneti Aperti is an initiative aimed at wine tourists and enthusiasts keen to discover the stories, traditions and terroirs of great Italian wine, while spending time in the great outdoors surrounded by the cultural heritage that makes every glimpse of the Peninsula unique, from north to south.
In between walks through the vineyards and visits to wineries, you can sample the wines and traditional produce of each region, accompanied by the warm hospitality of the MTV producers who for over thirty years have welcomed young and old alike to enjoy this experience, which is all about great wine, discovery and entertainment.
So head for the nearest winery and celebrate springtime with a glass of fine wine, along with the wine growers of the wine tourism initiative Movimento Turismo del Vino.
