Cableway Skyway: Monte Bianco up close

A masterpiece of engineering inaugurated in 2015 that blends perfectly into the natural environment, Skyway Mont Blanc is not just a cable car that takes you up to 3,466 metres in the heart of the Alps, it is also a treasure trove of unforgettable experiences.

The journey begins at an altitude of 1,300 metres in Courmayeur The Valley, where there is parking, luggage storage, ticket offices and a bar. At 2.173 metres, you can already admire the mountain in all its glory. The Pavillon The Mountain station has a large terrace with 180-degree views of Mont Blanc and Val Veny, as well as a bar, restaurant, boutique and cinema room. There is also the Cave Mont Blanc, where wine is made at high altitude, and Hangar 2.173, the station’s former site, which tells the history of cable cars. In summer, the Botanical Garden Saussurea blooms with 900 international species of flora. In winter, you can depart from here for snowshoeing, while the Skyway for kids is dedicated to the little ones.

At the last station, Punta Helbronner The Sky, you will feel like you can reach up and touch the sky. The panoramic terrace offers 360-degree views. You can enjoy a high-altitude lunch at the bistro, or, for a high-adrenalin experience, at the Sky Vertigo you can experience the sensation of walking on air.
