The town of Codroipo is located in the centre of the resurgence area. Inhabited since Roman times, it owes its name to the Latin word Quadrivium. Numerous archaeological finds have been discovered, some of which are on display in the Civic Museum.
Lose yourself in the endless beauty of the Parco delle Risorgive, which you can explore on foot or by bicycle.
At some points, it will really feel like you are walking on water that has resurfaced after travelling underground.
On the edge of the park, you can enjoy a stroll past ancient mills, such as the Bosa mill and the 15th-century Bert mill, which is still in working order and open to visitors.
Not just agritourism and taverns, irrigating ditches and votive chapels: in San Martino you will find the museum of vintage carriages with almost 50 perfectly functioning vehicles.
Explore the magnificent Villa Manin, once the residence of the last Doge of Venice: beauty, history and architectural perfection come together in this noble villa built in the 17th century, set in a park with trees from all over the world. The Villa is also home to major events and concerts, the Regional Association of Local Tourist Boards (with an Infopoint) and the Regional Centre for the Cataloguing and Restoration of Cultural Heritage. One of the rooms features the original furniture from Napoleon's bedroom: it was in this room that the commander signed the Treaty of Campoformido in 1797, which marked the end of the Republic of Venice.
