Casarsa is mainly known for its connection with Pier Paolo Pasolini, one of the most significant poets, film directors and intellectuals of 20th-century Italy. Some of the oldest artistic treasures in the municipality can be found in the places most closely associated with Pasolini's memories, such as the small village of Versuta. The little church of Sant'Antonio Abate contains fragments of 14th-century frescoes and early Renaissance paintings. n the capital, however, the church of Santa Croce preserves frescoes by Pomponio Amalteo.
The abundance of water in the area has traditionally been conducive to viticulture, a practice carried out by small landowners who, in 1931, joined forces to form the La Delizia wine cooperative, and still active to this day.
