San Genesio

Overview

San Genesio is a pretty village in South Tyrol, located in a quiet position on the Salto Plateau with a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Bolzano and the Dolomites ridges.
San Genesio is nature, an active holiday and a land of pleasure all at the same time! The dense network of paths encourages excursions in the mountains, hikes and mountain bike adventures.

The Salto Plateau above San Genesio is the largest larch plateau in Europe. Families particularly appreciate this breathtaking landscape with its moderate slopes. The view of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Adige Valley, the Mendola and the Ortles, accompany you at every step during your activities on the Salto. The Salto will show you its most magnificent side at any time of the year.

San Genesio is the place of origin for Haflinger horses: these "blonde" horses have been characteristic of San Genesio and Monzoccolo since the mid-nineteenth century. The special thing about the Haflinger is its blonde mane, its good-natured and friendly character and how efficient it is.
