DINOsardo

Overview

Discovering fossils from around the world

Embark on an exciting discovery of the lives of Earth’s first inhabitants in a visit to DINOsardo – a palaeontological trail that tells the story of the animals that lived in Sardinia, in Italy and on the entire planet for millions of years. The trail is in San Quirico, not far from the centre of Oristano,

in a Park that covers an area of 5,000 square metres. You’ll get to touch as well as see fossil reproductions of animals that have been extinct for millions of years, from the baby Argentinosaurus to the Stegosaurus. Meet the Park’s own life-sized Tethyshadros insularis called Antonio – don’t forget to take a photo!

Want to feel like real palaeontologists? Pick up a brush in the excavation laboratory to experience underground discoveries.

Each reproduction is inspired by real fossils exhibited in museums around the world and is accompanied by an illustrative panel. Walking through the park with your family is a journey through time and history.
