Overview
Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club
Dolceacqua consists of two picture-perfect villages: the 19th-century Borgo district, and the old town called Terra, over which the Doria Castle stands proud. You can reach the castle after a pleasant stroll through the picturesque streets, past the wine cellars and craft boutiques. The two villages are linked by an old "donkey-back bridge”.
Dolceacqua is also famous for its production of Rossese di Dolceacqua DOC, a ruby red wine with a mellow, mild and aromatic flavour (try the ones produced by the Testalonga winery owned by Antonio and Erica Perrino). Another excellent typical product is the extra-virgin olive oil.
