Overview
Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club
In the heart of Liguria, between the Apennine mountains and the sea, lies Brugnato. The village is a small pearl immersed in greenery: the surrounding landscape is rich and resplendent, and its scents are a marvellous blend of forest and sea. Brugnato is part of the Montemarcello-Magra-Vara Natural Park, an oasis of scenic beauty where you can let your eyes rest amidst the green of the trees and the blue of the sky.
But it is not only the peace of this nature that makes the village unique: Brugnato has always been known as a centre of greatspirituality: its pastel-coloured houses alternate with the many places of faith and worship that have sprung up here over the centuries. The cathedral, shrines and ancient convents all tell a story in which contact with spirituality is intense and deep.
And, to conclude one's journey through the village, one must not miss its flavours, such as its chestnut dishes and canestrelli sweets.
