Sorj Chalandon, one of the most original voices in French fiction, will be the protagonist of the 32nd edition of the Dedica Festival, in Pordenone from 14 to 21 March 2026. The event, organised by the Thesis Association and supported by public institutions and private partners, is regarded as a significant cultural event on the Italian scene.
A war correspondent and multi-award-winning novelist, Sorj Chalandon centres his work on memory, betrayal and fatherhood, crafting intense narratives that intertwine personal stories with collective dramas through an essential and powerful style. As explained by the artistic director Claudio Cattaruzza, the author transforms real and autobiographical impulses into literature through fictional characters and situations, addressing difficult themes with sensitivity and an outlook open to hope.
The festival will dedicate a week to meetings, performances, exhibitions and discussions focusing on the writer's life and work. The monograph Dedica a Sorj Chalandon, edited by Andrea Tarabbia, will also be published; he will be in conversation with the author at the opening event at the Teatro Verdi.
