Fondazione Villa Ghigi

Overview

The perfect opportunity to fall in love with the hills of Bologna

Villa Ghigi Park is located just outside Porta San Mamolo, not far from the marvellous centre of Bologna, but already among the first hills of the area. This charming large green area takes its name from the historic villa at its heart.

Opened to the public in 1974, the park includes other unmissable attractions such as the Caretaker's House and the Becco and Palazzino farms, the latter housing the Villa Ghigi Foundation. The Villa Ghigi Foundation organise many cultural activities that take place in the park, including engaging environmental education projects and activities. For example, they organise walks to observe nature in this green area surrounded by cultivated fields, wilderness and breathtaking views of the city, focusing on the seasonal cycles of the area's vegetation.

The Foundation also provides maps and illustrative material for an unforgettable discovery trip. Did the walks in Villa Ghigi Park make you hungry? No problem! There’s a refreshment area full of tasty bites in the Caretaker's House. Discover a different side of Bologna.
