Walking through Praiano means discovering narrow streets, stairways, colorful houses and numerous majolica votive shrines, one of the village’s most distinctive features. Don’t miss the Church of San Gennaro, famous for its beautiful majolica-tiled dome.

For swimming and relaxing by the sea, the main spots are Marina di Praia, a picturesque cove dominated by an ancient watchtower, and La Gavitella, renowned for its panoramic views and spectacular sunsets. Near La Gavitella you can also find the Fontana dell’Altare, a small natural pool inside a sea cave, accessible by boat.

Praiano’s position offers spectacular views stretching towards Positano, the Li Galli islands and Punta Campanella, with Capri in the background on clear days. La Gavitella and the village’s viewpoints are among the best places to enjoy the sunset.

How to get to Praiano

Praiano is located along the SS163 Amalfi Coast road, between Amalfi and Positano. During the high season, public transport or sea connections are recommended, as traffic and parking can be challenging.

The village is served by buses running along the Sorrento–Positano–Amalfi route. Hiking enthusiasts can also reach Praiano from Amalfi on foot, with a route of around two hours, choosing an itinerary suited to their fitness level.

To explore the village at a relaxed pace, enjoy the sea and stay for sunset, it is worth spending at least one full day in Praiano.
