Overview
A small municipality in the Campania region of the province of Naples on the slopes of the volcano Vesuvius, Ottaviano is a place where history and nature merge indissolubly. Also called the "City of Peace", this beautiful village of Roman origin has very ancient origins.
When visiting this southern Italian gem, we recommend that you do not miss the city's symbol, the Medicean Palace, first and foremost. If you are a fan of sacred art and religious architecture, the Mother Church of St Michael Archangel and the Church of the Most Holy Rosary will be your main destinations.
Passing through Ottaviano, it is a must to reach the Vesuvius National Park - of which it is a part - to enjoy days in the open air, in contact with nature and exercising. The view from the crater is spectacular, both looking out over the volcano and being amazed by the surrounding panorama.
