Badolato

Overview

A village of Byzantine layout, located in a strategic position that was once chosen to protect the town from enemy invasions, Badolato stands on a hill from which one can admire the mountains, the hills, all the way to the sea. Known as the 'Town of Churches' for the quantity of sacred buildings in its territory (it counts no less than thirteen), Badolato is, however, above all a town whose history and atmosphere are linked to the sea. The liveliest place in the town is in fact its marina, called Le Bocche di Gallipari, where the hustle and bustle of boats never seems to stop: all around, the splendid and very long beaches, from which to admire the wonder of the sea that still tells the ancient legends of sailors and mariners.
