"To pass on", to go beyond... To cross over, but also to stay, to unite, to give new life. This is "Felici e Conflenti", the historic community festival that takes place every summer in Conflenti, in the province of Catanzaro.
From 22 to 26 July, Felici e Conflenti returns for its 10th edition, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the choreographic and musical culture of the Reventino area and the Savuto Valley.
The intent of this community festival? We ask the organisers...
"Felici e Conflenti was created to share and transmit the immense cultural heritage of the Reventino area, in the context of a horizontal knowledge transmission system in which orality plays a fundamental role. Animating a village like Conflenti, involving neighbouring communities and the popular traditions of other areas of the South, means lighting a beacon on our villages, to counter the practice of oblivion. It is not just a matter of recovering an important historical memory, but of giving it continuity and projecting it into the present".
Days full of events, which are an opportunity to meet musicians, dancers, researchers and enthusiasts face-to-face, to rediscover sounds of ancient charm and traditions of the territory through seminars, meetings, workshops, music, dances, wine and food tastings, excursions and festive evenings.
