A candlelit guided tour with aperitif at the museum.
The Canova Foundation organises an evocative evening visit inside the Gypsotheca, where visitors can admire the extensive collection of sculptures illuminated solely by lantern light, before continuing to the birthplace of Antonio Canova in Possagno to discover the painted masterpieces of this genius.
Before the guided tour, guests are offered an aperitif in the museum's rustic annex, featuring typical products from Canova's homeland.
An evening that will take you back in time, allowing you to relive the atmosphere that Canova breathed at the end of the eighteenth century in his Roman studio, when, after an intense day of work, by torchlight and lanterns, the tireless artist modelled sketches and polished marble.
An enchanting silence reigned at night in his atelier emptied of artists and collectors, where absolute masterpieces surrounded the intense work of the greatest neoclassical artist.
The evening's programme includes:
- Aperitif in the rustic outbuilding of the Museum with typical local dishes and products from Canova's homeland
- Guided tour of Canova's birthplace
- Guided tour by lantern light in the Gypsotheca
