Overview
It is much more than a forested nature area with walking trails. It is much more than a forest to walk in. The walk in the Bosco di S. Francesco is something much deeper. It represents a sort of call to rediscover the Franciscan message of harmony between man and nature, precisely by taking this route that unites the sacred with nature and history. We set off from the church of St Francis following a path that leads down to the valley floor, immersed in a landscape of gentleness and recollection. The place of arrival is bordered by the outlines of the mill, the remains of the Benedictine nuns' monastery and a tower. From the top of the tower you can admire Michelangelo Pistoletto's land art work The Third Paradise (2010), a large mathematical sign of infinity composed of rows of olive trees, representing the generation of a new humanity; if you wish, you can walk along its 240 metres of pure silence.
