Trequanda

Overview

Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club

Surrounded by woods and vineyards, between Val d 'Asso and Valdichiana, Trequanda has an intact historic centre, still partly surrounded by walls.

Passing the cylindrical tower of the Cacciaconti castle, the main square opens where the black and white stone checkered façade of the parish church of saints Pietro and Andrea, founded in the thirteenth century and rich in works of art, immediately strikes. Strolling through the stone alleys of the medieval village, between arches and small courtyards, you reach the ancient and panoramic gates, the Leccio and the Sun.

Also worth a visit are the two small hamlets of Castelmuzio, with the imposing Romanesque parish church of Santo Stefano a Cennano of early Christian origin and Petroio, famous above all for the production of artistic terracottas.

From the countryside, which we invite you to discover on foot or by bicycle, come refined oil, excellent wines, mortadelles and pecorini cheese.
