Overview
At the end of a route that makes you fall in love with the beauty of the Val d'Elsa hills, among olive groves and rows of vines, you can see the ancient castle of Casole, the symbol of this ancient village balanced between history and art. Entering the centre, a must-see is the Palazzo della Propositura, which today houses the Civic Archaeological Museum and the Collegiate Church, to then reach the Rocca, today the seat of the Town Hall and the Museum of the City, and from there climb up to its Small Tower: the view from up here is enchanting and the gaze rests on the farmhouses and parish churches, and reaches out to caress the hills and valleys of the surrounding area, a small paradise to be discovered and experienced. Before saying goodbye to this splendid land, a must-visit is the hamlet of Monteguidi, where the writer Carlo Cassola set his novel La ragazza di Bube (Bebo’s girl): a journey through time, a journey of emotions and poetry.
