Overview
A land of fascination and mystery
In the upper part of the Valle di Daone, in western Trentino, lies an area of great beauty: the Val di Fumo, on the border with Lombardy.
The valley, of glacial origin, lies within the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, and is characterised by the Bissina artificial lake, formed by a rectilinear concrete dam, 563 metres long and 81 metres high, which is regularly open to the public and on which an annual speed competition is held.
In this unspoilt kingdom, extending for some 24 kilometres, you will be surrounded by nature that manifests itself in its sounds, from the sound of flowing water to the sound of the wind through the leaves, enveloped in a landscape that shows all its splendour in the colourful vegetation. It is an area that lends itself perfectly to alpine excursions or simple walks against a picture-postcard backdrop, where white clouds skim the mountain peaks and seem to turn into smoke, giving the valley its name.
