Siddi

Overview

At Siddi, one encounters the charm of nature and the fascination of prehistory. Next to the town lies the Giara, one of Marmilla's three basaltic plateaus (the most famous is the Giara di Gesturi, 'home' of the little horses). The plateau holds real archaeological and natural treasures, such as the Sa Dom'e s'Orku tomb of giants, one of the most majestic and best-preserved in Sardinia. Also not to be missed is the Sa Fogaia archaeological-natural park: 'protected' from above by an archaic nuraghe, it houses a garden with hundreds of plant species, including aromatic and medicinal plants. In the village, a visit to the church of San Michele Arcangelo, where the lintel carved with mysterious figures is surprising, and to the museum of agro-food traditions is a must.
