Neoneli

Overview

Neoneli stands in the splendid setting of the Barigadu hills and its territory is rich in archaeological sites and artefacts that date back to the Nuragic period and narrate to the incredulous eyes of the visitor the ancient stories of this fascinating land. Among these, the ruins of the Nuragic complex of Nocurreli, Olisetzo, Prunas and the domus de janas of Puleu, Pranu-Sasa and Su Angiu are particularly spectacular. Also worth seeing, to be enraptured by the beauty of this small village, is the ancient parish church of San Pietro, with its pink trachyte façade. And, to conclude one's trip to Neoneli, it is the voices that should be sought out: in fact, its tenores choir, a traditional polyphonic quartet thanks to which the ancient songs are kept alive, valorised and disseminated, is famous.
