Overview
In the midst of the wonderful panorama of the Public Gardens is the Municipal Art Gallery, whose neoclassical main façade was built in 1828, while the original structure of the building, formerly the royal powder magazine, dates back to the end of the 18th century. The building was renovated to become an Art Gallery in the early 1930s. Today, it is the permanent home of two of Cagliari's most important art collections: the Ingrao collection, and the Sardinian Artists collection, which includes the names of Francesco Ciusa, Giuseppe Biasi, Maria Lai and Costantino Nivola.
