Overview
Orange Flag of the Italian Touring Club
In the verdant Valsesia lies the village of Fobello, a scattered municipality composed of some thirty tiny and pretty hamlets. The enchanting nature that surrounds the village has also left its traces in its name, which derives from 'Fo', a term that in Valsesian means 'beech'. A place of excursions, especially in the Valsesia Natural Park, Fobello is also home to two interesting museums: the Carestia Tirozzo Herbarium, which houses part of the herbarium collected by Abbot Antonio Carestia, one of Italy's greatest naturalists, and the Puncetto Museum, which instead collects the embroidery work made with a millenary lace that exists in this area. Finally, traditions are very much alive and, during these exciting moments, the women still wear the typical local costume.
