Overview
The Society for Fine Arts and Permanent Exhibition has an art collection comprising more than 300 paintings, sculptures, drawings and engravings. The collection dates back to 1886, when the institution inaugurated its current headquarters, and was established over the following decades through the purchase of works with the prizes awarded during the exhibitions organized by the Permanente, as well as with donations from artists, collectors and patrons. Since the twentieth century, the Society has supported artists with purchase prizes, such as the Fornara and Feltrinelli Prizes for painting, the Bagutta - Orio Vergani Prize for figurative arts, and the prizes of the Milan Biennale, held at the Permanente since 1955. It is advisable to consult the official website or contact the agency to schedule a visit.
